This is How to Have an Interior Inspection on a Potential Home
Touring homes during the day is a great idea because it will allow you to see exactly what the home looks like and you can do a thorough check. When you get inside of a home, accessing the interior, there are quite a few things that you should keep in mind.
Check for Mold
Mold is a huge problem with several different homes. You often have to have a keen eye just to be able to see any problems that are around. Look around windows for dark black or green spots. You can also check areas like toilets, water heaters, under sinks in the bathroom and kitchen, and even around the refrigerator.
Check the Windows
While you are in the process of checking for mold around windows, you can also take this as the time to check to make sure the windows are working properly. Some other signs of mold can be a very musty smell. You can often smell this in areas like basements, laundry rooms, or bathrooms.
Check the Flooring
Look at the type of flooring closely. If there are hardwood floors, make sure that they are in good condition. This type of flooring can be difficult to keep up so be sure it's good quality. For carpets, check for stains and ask about any stains that you see. Cleaning carpets is no easy task.
Check the Doors
Just like with windows, you want to make sure that all doors are working properly. Open each one and close it as well. Check to see how well they lock and if they close tightly with little room for any drafts to get into the
interior of a home.
