This is What To Avoid In A Real Estate Agent via @homebidz

Here’s How to Stay Alert to Problems When House Searching

Knowing exactly what you’re looking for is how home viewing can be made easy. There are basic search ideas that can help you along the way, but there are also some tips that you may not have thought about. These can often help in making the final decision.

View photos of the home

Many realtors have no problem with you taking photos of the homes that you view. Now it’s made easy with taking photos and organizing them on your computer, tablet, or smartphone. Having photos to refer back to is great because you can remember exact details about everything that interest you.

Take measurements of your furniture

If you plan on buying a home and you already have the furniture, it’s best to bring the measurements you have for the main pieces. Start with the biggest pieces of furniture like the sofa or love seat and compare that size to the space in any of the homes that you view. There’s no point to buying a home where you can’t even fit your furniture through the door.

Make a floor plan sketch

Make a rough floor plan sketch of the main homes you are interested in. These plans will come in handy later on when you want to refer back to the layout of each home.

Peek at the floors

This next one may sound odd, but it’s important. If you are the only one or part of a few that are viewing a home, take a look to see what is under the rugs. There could be a reason that they are down there, and not necessarily a good one. They could be covering up damage done to the floors or carpets.

You are about to make a big investment, so you need to know as much as possible before buying. This may mean asking questions, pulling up rugs, and checking out what appears to be water damage on the bathroom ceiling. Take your time and be well informed before signing on the dotted line.
