This is How to Make Realtors Sweat: Understanding Home Tours
When you reach the part of your home search that you can start to tour homes, there are few tips that you should follow to make sure that your tour goes as smoothly as possible. Keeping these things in mind will help you make informed decisions when on home tours.
1.
Check the level of floors and rooms using a marble. If you do not have a level handy, you can carry a marble with you. If a plane is not level, the marble will easily roll in the direction that is sinking down.
2.
Binoculars make for easy roof checking. When you want to get a better look at roof, just take a pair of binoculars. You can get an up close look at the roof and any damage that may be hiding up there.
3.
Make sure there is no music that is playing in any of the surrounding homes. You want to be able to hear everything. Listen to how much of the outside noise you can hear and between each room as well. Traffic and trains can be very loud if you live near a busy road or railroad.
4.
Make note of tax records before going out to view a home. Compare the description of the house from tax records against the actual house. See what differences there might be so you know what you are getting into if you decide to
buy a house.
5.
Check the storage space. You may not think you need a lot of storage space but you would be amazed at the many items that are collected over the years. You will definitely need somewhere to store all of it.
These are all items that most do not immediately think of, but they are important to keep track of any time a
home tour is being completed.
