How to Make Your House More Attractive When You Stage Your Home for Selling

When you are ready to stage your home, you need to remember that the cleaner the better. Get in there with some power cleaning techniques to make the home that much more attractive to buyers.

Floors

A floor polishers is a machine that resembles a vacuum cleaner but has a long handle towards the top and a wide base with circular brushes. This is to clean the dirt and a buffer increases the shine of the floor. The polisher basically cleans up all the dust on the floor and buffs it, but since the shine of the floor increases tremendously, the overall look and appeal of the house also increases.

If you have carpet throughout your house, you should consider having it professional cleaned. Carpet cleaners typically charge by the size of your rooms, so if you want an estimate, either have them stop by or be prepared to tell them the approximate size of your rooms. Carpet cleaning, as floor polishing, will change the entire look of your home, as well as creating a cleaner smelling environment.

Walls, trim, and glass

When we live somewhere for a long period of time, we get used to the dirt and grime on our walls. Take a walk through your home as if you are viewing it for the first time. What do you notice? Are the walls free from grimy handprints and dirty splashes of drinks and food? Can you see through the windows, or are they covered in dirt? Is the trim along the floors and doorways clean, or is it time for a fresh coat of paint?

Oftentimes, homeowners are shocked when they "see" the dirt in their homes. Because of our familiarity, we don't pay attention to these details. However, someone walking into your house is going to see your dirty stovetop and refrigerator, as well as the pictures that are covered with dust.

Take time to clean everything that isn't perfect. Don't try to do it all at once, but take your time, and soon, you'll have a sparkly lovely home to put on the market.
