This is Why Your Listing Realtor Should Be an Expert Marketer
When getting ready to sell your home, there are a number of factors you need to take into consideration. However, when it comes to marketing the property, that is the job of your real estate agent. When shopping for your listing realtor, pay attention to his or her marketing skills in and out of the office.
What type of marketing is being used
One way you can do this is to look at the realtor's flyers to see if they are attractive and catchy. Are the headlines engaging? Are the listings featured in publications or billboards? Have you heard the realtor's homes advertised on the local radio stations? If so, you know you're in good hands.
On the other hand, if you don't see any of these things happening, you need to have a talk with your agent and ask what's going on. It is their responsibility to get the word out about your listing, and that's what you are paying them to do. Among other things, marketing is one of the most valuable tasks your real estate needs to understand when
selling your home.
Here are some quick tips on finding the right agent:
- Speak with some of their most recent customers
- Check their credentials
- Find out how long he or she has been in the real estate business
- See if he or she has won any awards
- Look at other listings and see how they line up with what you want
- Check out their licensing to make sure they have a clean record
- Ask them questions about other homes for sale in your area
If you don't like what you're seeing or hearing in the office or on the phone, look elsewhere. There are pros and cons to hiring a realtor that doesn't live near your neighborhood; however, sometimes, when working with a listing agent, it's a better idea to go big even when that means distance. Your goal is to
sell your home, and your team should be on board with that goal.
